Acoustic Wedding Singer Gold Coast & Beyond

ACOUSTIC WEDDING MUSICIAN
& GOOD HUMAN: MATTIE BARKER

“Mattie’s statement”

WEDDING SOLOIST:
MATTIE BARKER

Singer / Guitarist / DJ

Undoubtedly one of the Gold Coast’s most popular musicians – with music makers and music lovers alike. To cross paths with Mattie in everyday life, is to feel like an exchange has taken place. Whatever you give, you feel as if Mattie has truly taken it on board. And what Mattie contributes, you can guarantee you’ll feel it and think about it for a long time to come.

Mattie approaches music the same way he does life. He fills it with warmth and heart, and invites you in. There’s a feel-good authenticity – to everything Mattie does – that, if bottled, would make him a bazillion bucks. But you get the feeling Mattie’s not that into the bucks.

Mattie has an enviable relationship and understanding of music (and, for that matter, the universe). He’s a master of his crafts, and his crafts are many. Vocally, Mattie will – whether it’s to tears or to soar – move you. But he’s also dedicated his life to becoming a true multi-instrumentalist (a label far too many, far too easily, bestow upon themselves).

Mattie is an incredible acoustic wedding singer and guitarist and has become a much-loved piece of furniture on the Gold Coast music scene. For many years he leant his skills on the bass guitar and harmonica to local folk-rock success story The Lamplights, and somewhere along the line picked up the slide guitar (or ‘Lap Steel’) too. Mattie also loves to shake and whack stuff (think ‘percussion’), and effortlessly engages with audiences of any size as if it were just you and him.

If you’re big on ‘the feels’, and original-sounding re-workings, you’ll be huge on Mattie.
